Ron Eydt Village (REV)
Ron Eydt Village (or REV, pronounced 'rehv') is a residence consisting of four quads separated into 5 floors. Constructed in 1969, REV is home to over 950 first year students who have to trek hours just to get to class. On the bright side, REV is a great place to socialize. Allegedly.
History
REV was originally known as Village 2, and earned the nickname "Village Zoo" for some reason that I just can't figure out. It was renamed to honour the residence warden Ron Eydt.
Trivia
- While under construction, REV (Village 2) was dubbed 'Habitat ’69', since it kind of resembled Habitat '67 in Montreal.
- During its early years, students were highly critical of the residence's design and living conditions. So much so that the Students' Council (later named the Federation of Students, and now WUSA) motioned to "blow up the foundations" of the building.
- The motion ultimately failed by one vote, and the building remained intact, much to the dismay of hundreds of first year students every fall.
- Someone recreated REV in Minecraft for some reason.
